Betty Ann Hardesty, 75, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 2:01 am.
She was born in Hallidayboro, Illinois, on December 23, 1948, the daughter of James and Della (Clark) Haney.
Betty was of the Protestant faith. She was an avid animal lover, especially dogs. She loved life and her family.
She is survived by her husband, Art Ather; a son, Michael Hosfelt of Cottage Hills; a granddaughter, Kenjiia Hosfelt of Cottage Hills; siblings, Kay Agard of Godfrey, Mary Lou Svobda of Wood River, and Fred (Nancy) Haney of Godfrey; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Along with her parents, she is preceded in death by an infant son, Gary Allsop, Jr; siblings, Robert Haney, and Roy Lee Haney.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, September 19, 2024, from 5 pm to 7 pm, at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, and will continue from 9 am until time of Funeral Services on Friday, September 20, 2024, at 11 am. Pastor Terry McKinzie will officiate. Burial will follow at Upper Alton Cemetery.
