Betty A. Leake, 84, passed away at 7:50 am on Thursday, January 23, 2014 at VIP Manor in Wood River.
She was born on January 25, 1929 in Barker, NY, the daughter of Neil and Ermel (Harmon) Featherstone.
She married Homer C. Leake on June 23, 1951 in Alton. He preceded her in death in 1957.
Betty did clerical work for Miller’s Mutual Insurance Company for 25 years. She was a member of Main Street Methodist Church in Alton. She enjoyed traveling and loved pets, especially her dog, Cookie and her cat, Andy.
She is survived by a daughter, Brenda Leake of Bethalto and three nephews and their wives, Neil “Jim” and Annie Featherstone III of Fremont, Michigan, Bill and Terri Featherstone of Novi, Michigan and Don and Kathy Featherstone of London, England.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother, Neil Featherstone Jr.
Visitation will be from 10 until services at 11 am Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Charles Schwaab officiating.
