Beryl June (Love) Papaik, 81, passed away at 9:45 am Sunday, December 9, 2012 at her home with her family by her side.
She was born on May 31, 1931 in Ipswich, England, the daughter of John and Florence Mae (Moss) Love.
She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Bob Papaik. Bob served in the military service for 26 years, and she and the children accompanied him during his service life at various bases overseas and stateside.
Beryl was a homemaker, mother, wife and a deeply, compassionate women. She was a member of the Innsbrook Women’s Association of Bethalto and the Yard Sale Committee. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, cross stitching and traveling throughout the world.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by four children and their spouses, Michael John Papaik and Phyllis Early of Sebastopol, CA, Shirley Theresa and Tom Barton of Waterloo, IL, Lynn Marie and Bill Saunders of San Mateo, CA and Karen Anne and Alan DeCock of Tracy, CA; three grandchildren, Jacquelyn, husband Rick Massey, Jennifer Moehlmann and Robert Slife; three great-grandchildren, Kailyn, Desirae and Faith Massey; four step grandchildren, Brian, Brad, Brett and Breann Saunders; a sister, Joan Gardiner of Hadleigh, England; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Kenneth and Kathy Love of Ipswich, England and Reggie and Nancy Love of Carleton Rode, England and a wealth of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Eric, Jimmy, Roy and Owen Love and her sister, Lily Smith.
A memorial visitation will be from 10 am until a service at 12 Noon at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Father Tom Liebler officiating.
Memorials may be made to 5 A’s Animal Shelter of Alton or the American Heart Association.
