Bernice Ord, 95, passed away at 12:46 pm Tuesday, April 23, 2013 at VIP Manor in Wood River.
She was born on November 7, 1917 in Springerton, IL, the daughter of Chal and Rhoda (Rister) Ellis.
She married Walker H. Ord on December 2, 1939 in Benton, Kentucky. He preceded her in death on December 15, 1999.
Bernice was a homemaker most of her life. She was a member of the Vaughn Hill Church of Christ.
She is survived by a daughter, Patricia Ann Huffstutler of East Alton; a son, Tom and Louise Ord of Hebersprings, AK; four grandchildren; six great grandchildren and a sister, Dorothy Oakley of Witchita, Kansas.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a son-in-law, Dennis Huffstutler, a sister, Betty Payton and three brothers, Elmer Ellis, Everett Ellis and Ed Ellis.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm on Friday, April 26, 2013 at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens Chapel in Bethalto. Entombment will follow.
Memorials may be made to BJC Hospice or Paragould Orphanage in Paragould, Arkansas.
