Berdella June Baker, 87, of Alton, passed away on September 24, 2023, at home with her family by her side.
She was born on January 28, 1936, the daughter of Hardin and Leona Armstrong.
Berdella graduated from Jersey Community High School and worked in packaging for Owens Illinois Glass Manufacturing for 33 years until her retirement in 1992.
She married Floyd Baker on August 12, 1961, at Main Street Baptist Church in Alton. He survives.
Berdella was a member of Heartland Baptist Church in Godfrey and loved raising her children.
She is survived by her loving spouse Floyd, a daughter, Connie Baker of Bridgeport, TX; two sons, Bud (Paula) Humiston of Rosewood Heights, IL, Steve Humiston (Debbie Herren) of Dow, IL; seven grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; and a sister, Adelene Walz of Jerseyville, IL.
She was preceded in death by three sisters, Dorothy Wilburn, Artie Thompson, and Joyce Woolsey.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 29, 2023, from 11:00 am until time of funeral services at 1:00 pm at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, Illinois.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
Memorials are suggested to the Alton VFW Post 1308.
