Benji Clifford, 35, passed away at 11:56 pm on Tuesday, September 8, 2026, in St. Louis.
He was born on January 5, 1991, in St. Louis, Missouri, the son of Lisa (Mohesky) Downs of Gulf Shores, Alabama, and the late Thomas Clifford.
In addition to his mom, Benji is survived by his step–dad: Jeff Downs, two sisters and a brother in law: Ashley Downs of Ferguson, Missouri, Lauren and Chris Lyons of Florissant, Missouri, two brothers and a sister in law: Scott and Jaime Downs of Florissant, Missouri, Eric Downs of St. Ann, Missouri, a half sister: Ali Clifford of St. Louis, Missouri, his girlfriend who he lived with: Katie Kruszynski of St. Charles, Missouri, his paternal grandma: Cathy Pytlinski, many nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
Benji was a service technician at Meineke Car Service. He loved music, working on cars and was a third-degree black belt in Taekwondo.
In addition to his dad, Benji was preceded in death by a sister: Kristen Downs, maternal grandparents: Ken and Bernice Mohesky, his paternal grandparents: Delbert and Pat Downs and Brian Clifford.
In celebration of his life, memorial visitation will be at Pitchford Funeral Home on Friday, September 25, 2026, from 3pm to 5pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Alzheimer’s Association in honor of his maternal grandfather.
