Barlow E. Harris, 72 of Cottage Hills passed away Saturday, July 9, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born March 22, 1944 in Pine Bluff, AR. to Lee and Newell (Leach) Harris. He married Twana (Bryer) Colbert January 17, 2002 in Edwardsville, IL. Barlow served in the Army. He was retired from Shell Oil where worked as a carpenter. He then spent 10 years working as a truck driver. Barlow was a member of the Bethalto Masonic Lodge #406, Knights Templar – Belvidere Commandery No. 2, Carpenters local #664, York Rite and the Ainad Shriners.
He is survived by his wife, Twana Harris of Cottage Hills; three sons and two daughters in law, Steve Harris of Abingdon, IL, Danny and Debbie Harris of Mt. Vernon, IL and Heath and Angie Bounds of Cottage Hills, IL; four daughters and two sons in law, Misty Simpson of Commerce, TX, Jacqulyn and Shaun McCann of East Alton, Kayla and Daniel Fisher of Cabot, AR and Krystal Hanna of Wooton, KY; step children, Brian, Kevin and David Barnes, Rachel Trentham, Tammy Atkinson, Toni Weaver and Karla Goss; 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Tann Jett and Tina Tate Rolen and a grandson, James Bounds.
A memorial visitation will be from 2:30 p.m. until the time of services at 3:30 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2016 at Paynic Home for Funerals 618 East Airline Dr., East Alton, IL 62040.
