Barbara Jacoby

Barbara Kay Jacoby, 73, of Godfrey passed away at 6:43 am on Thurs March 1, 2018 at St Anthony’s Hospital in Alton. Barbara was a three time cancer survivor. She was born on July 29, 1944 in Highland, IL to Orlo & Pearl (Richardson) Watson.

She married Merrill “Mike” Jacoby on June 27, 2009 in Jerseyville, IL.She was a Red Hat Lady and a member of the VFW Post 1308 Ladies Auxiliary, Alton Moose and 4-H. She enjoyed talking and visiting with family, friends and cooking shows.
  She is survived by her husband Merrill “Mike” Jacoby of Godfrey, 2 sons and daughter in law; Donald Reed Jr of Superior, MT, Kevin & Melissa Reed of Alton, stepdaughter and her husband: April & Kevin Spurgeon of Brighton, Stepson: Michael Jacoby of Wood River, Sister Betty Peterson of Livingston, sister in law: Dot Watson of Arkansas, Grandchildren: Bianca Reed, Dylan Spurgeon and Nicole Staszewski & Great Grandchildren: Savannah & Jason Staszewski.She was preceded in death by her husbands; Donald Reed Sr & Ed Cress, sister: Maria Watson, stepdaughter: Millie Robinson sisters: Naomi Blunt & Janice Watson, brothers: Billy Watson & Kenneth “Buster” Watson.

 

Her wishes were to be crematedA Memorial Visitation will be 5-7 pm Tues March 13, 2018 at the Alton VFW Post 1308 with a Memorial Service at 7 pm with Rev Potter officiating.Burial will be in New Douglas Cemetery at a later date.

 

Memorial may be made to Neurofibromatosis Foundation.
