Barbara E. Groves, 75, passed away at 10:20 am on Wednesday, February 14, 2024, at home surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on March 12, 1948, in Alton, IL to Jacque "Jack" M. and Lucy (Coleman) Jacoby.
She married Wain H. Groves on August 3, 1968, in Alton, Illinois. He survives.
Barbara loved reading, especially romance novels. She enjoyed solving word find and jigsaw puzzles. Above all, she found most joy in taking care of her family.
In addition to her mother, Lucy Jacoby, she is survived by two daughters, Kelly (Mark) Lemons, and Melissa (Jeff) Cannon; a son, Allen Groves; five granddaughters, Katelyn Lemons, Chelsea Lemons, Alyssa Skinner, Caitlyn Pritchard, and Alexis Groves; two grandsons, Derek Skinner, and Dalton Cannon; a sister, Vicki Krummelbein; a brother, Jacque (Butch) Jacoby, Jr.; a great-grandson, Kashton Trobaugh; along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and good friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Jacque "Jack" M. Jacoby, Sr.
Visitation will be 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.
Funeral services will be held 11:00 am on Monday, February 19, 2024, at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park.
Memorials are suggested to Alzheimer's Association.
