Barbara B. Hasse, 66, passed away at 7:32 pm Friday, April 27, 2012 at St. Anthony’s Health Center in Alton with her family by her side
She was born on April 3, 1946 in Ft. Benning, GA, the daughter of Edward B. and Evelyn (Winchell) Blair, Sr.
Barb was a Register Nurse for Touchpoint Center in St. Louis, MO. She graduated from Marquette High School in 1964. She was also a graduate of St. Joseph School of Nursing in 1967, St. Louis School University School of Nursing in 1977, and Washington University in St. Louis with a Master Degree in Education in 1985. Barb served her country in the Army Nurse Corps from 1966-1969 achieving the rank of 1st Lieutenant. She was stationed at the 8th Army Field Hospital in Nha Trang, South Vietnam all of 1968. She also was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton. Barb was an avid sports fan and loved watching the Explorers, Billikens and Cardinals.
She is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law: Rob and Beth Hasse of Godfrey, Blair Hasse of Godfrey, two grandchildren Sarah K. Hasse, Stephen J. Hasse, two brothers and their spouses: Dr. Edward B. and Barb Blair of Godfrey, Steven L. and Nancy Blair of Maryville, IL and four nieces and a nephew: Rachel Blair, Lindsay Marsh, Regan Blair, Lauren Voelker and Steven Blair Jr.
Her parents preceded her in death.
Visitation will be from 4 pm to 8 pm Monday April 30, 2012 at Staten Fine Funeral Home in Alton. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10am Tuesday May 1, 2012 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton.
Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alton with full Military Rites being accorded.
Memorials may be made to: Marquette Catholic High School and /or St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton.
