Arthur W. Kuhlman

Arthur W. Kuhlman, age 93, passed away at 1:02 pm, Friday, December 20, 2013 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

 

He was born on September 14, 1920 in Dalton, MO, son of the late Pearl A. & Clara (Kolas) Kuhlman.

Arthur married Frances I. (Ballard) on March 10, 1949 in Kansas City, MO. She passed away November 17, 2009.

He worked for most of his life as a self employed carpenter retiring in 1990. He served his country during WWII in the U.S. Army Air Force.  He was a member of the American Legion and an honorary life time member of the Rosewood Heights volunteer fire department.  He enjoyed taking care of his lawn, fishing, building bird houses as well as spending time with his family and friends. 

Arthur is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Jerry & Phillis Walden of Bethlehem, PA; one daughter and son-in-law, Barbara & Alan McHugh of Godfrey; three grandchildren, Dianna Walden, Glenn Walden and his spouse Sheri and Kris Walden; five great grandchildren, Jackie, Jessie, Corrine, Michael and Megan; two great great grandchildren, Kylie and Cove and four siblings, Ruth Anderson of Rogers, AR, Dale Kuhlman of Brunswick, MO, Thomas Kuhlman of Moberly, MO and Norma Smith of Columbia, MO.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; one great grandson, Justin and three sisters, Carman, Ruby and Margie.

Visitation will be from 9:30 am until time of funeral services at 11 am Saturday December 28, 2013 at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton IL with Pastor Marsha Brown.

Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

Memorials may be made to Crisis Food Center.
