Arthur Rock

Arthur O. Rock, age 88, of Glen Carbon, Illinois died at 3:25 p.m. Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at Eden Village Care Center. Arthur worked for 19 years at the Naval Support Center in Crane, Indiana and as a chemist for Union Starch in Granite City for 15 years. He was born May 24, 1930, in O’Fallon, Illinois the son of the late Arthur H. & Elberta (Widicus) Rock. He married Geraldine Eberhart on June 11, 1955, in Edwardsville. Besides his wife Geraldine he is survived by 2 daughters, Tammy Cinotto & husband Dom of Glenelg, Maryland and Dawn East & husband Bryan of Troy, Illinois; 2 grandchildren, Patrick East & wife Irenka Carney of Urbana, Illinois and Dominic Cinotto of Glenelg, Maryland; and 1 brother, Randel Rock of St. Jacob. He was preceded in death by a sister, Genevieve Logan. Arthur was a member of Frieden’s United Church of Christ in Troy. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army having served as a Sergeant during the Korean War. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday, August 5, 2018 at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home. Services will be at 10:00 a.m Monday, August 6, 2018, at Weber & Rodney Funeral Home with Rev. Nancy Gamache officiating. Interment will be at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. Memorials may be given to Frieden’s United Church of Christ.
