Arnold “Gene” Eugene McClellan Jr., 61, of Alton, IL, passed away at 10:12 a.m. Sat. Dec. 31, 2016 at OSF St. Anthony’s Medical Center in Alton.
He was born Aug. 21, 1955 in Wood River, IL to the late Arnold E. & Rhoda Geraldine (Grindstaff) McClellan Sr.
Gene had worked for many years in maintenance at the Alton Square Mall. He had been an avid motorcyclist and a member of The Warehouse.
Gene is survived by 4 children: Cara McClellan of Kampsville, IL, Cassie (Ty) Cox of Carrollton, IL, Chad (Amanda) McClellan of Cottage Hills, IL and Caitlin McClellan of South Roxana, IL; 9 grandchildren: Mahala, Greysen, Annistyn, Leyten, Laina, Grant, Livie, Lilah and Henry; a brother, Skip Grindstaff of East Alton, IL; 2 former spouses: Brenda Johnson of Kampsville and Melody Foutch of South Roxana; and his friend, Keith Thaxton of South Roxana.
