Armida C. Voss, 92, passed away at 3:40 am on April 4, 2018, at her residence in East Alton.
She was born on May 30, 1925 in Bologna, Italy, the daughter of the late Pietro and Maria (Castelli) Farneti. She married Robert C. Voss of Alton, IL, her loving husband of nearly 70 years, he survives.
Armida graduated from St. Joseph School of Nursing in 1947 and obtained her BS in Nursing from St. Louis University in May of 1973. She was of the Catholic faith which was very important to her, as was her family.
She is survived by two sons, Robert C. (Sharon) Voss, Jr of St. Louis, MO and John B. (Grace) Voss of Allen, TX; four grandchildren, Amanda (Brendan) Mongey of St. Louis, MO, Phillip Voss of Edwardsville, Bobby (fiancé, Cheyanne) Voss of Champaign, IL and Andrew Voss of Indianapolis, IN; two great grandchildren, Declan and Conor; sister, Carolyn Heeren of Carlinville, IL; three nephews; five nieces; and several cousins in Italy.
Along with her parents, Armida was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony (Gloria) Farneti of Bethalto; a sister, Mary Loveless of Carlinville, IL; a nephew; and a great nephew.
Mass will be at 10 am on Monday, April 9, 2018 at Our Lady Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Bethalto, IL with Father Tom Liebler officiating.
