Anna M. Lawson

Anna M. Lawson, age 93, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 27, 2014 at 10:15 am at Bethalto Care Center, surrounded by her family.

She was born on May 7, 1921, in Greensboro, PA, the daughter of John & Jenny (Totora) Blasioli.

She married Wallace E. Lawson on March 2, 1945 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton.  He passed away August 31, 2007.

Anna was employed at Owens, IL as a line worker for 30 years.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.  She was involved with the St. Anthony’s Aux an avid bowler and Chicago Cubs Fan and enjoyed being with her family and friends.

She is survived by three children and their spouses, Gena & Jerry Schmitt of Mt. Vernon, IN, Jenny Taylor of Ballwin, MO and Bill & Ann Lawson of Alton; one sister, Stella Merli of Valley Park, MO; four grandchildren and their spouses, Jennifer & Bryan Heckman, Jeremy Schmitt, Adam & Tricia Lawson and Beth & Dan St. Peters; five great grandchildren, Katelyn, Halle, Braden, Lawson and Liv; one sister-in-law, Marsha Blasioli of Alton and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband she is preceded in death by two sisters, Carrie Hendrickson and Josephine Sumpter; two brothers, Danny and Joe Blasioli and a son-in-law, Roger Taylor.

Visitation will be from 8:30 am until 10 am, Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton.

 A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton.

Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery in Alton.

Memorials may be made St. Mary’s or Bethalto Care Center and or William M. BeDell Soc. ARC.

The family would also like to thank Bethalto Care Center for their excellent Care and becoming part of an extended family to Anna.
