Anna J. Gulovsen, age 94, of Godfrey, passed away under BJC Hospice Care at the Assisted Living Wing of United Methodist Village on Tuesday, December 30, 2014.
She was born March 19, 1920, in Brooklyn, NY, the daughter of Ole and Nellie (Christiansen) Jonassen. She married G. Robert Gulovsen and he preceded her in death.
She moved to Staten Island, NY, then moved to Ras Tanura, Saudi Arabia, where she lived for over twenty years. She then lived in Albuquerque, NM before eventually settling in Godfrey. She was the President of the Ras Tanura Women’s Group, President of Duke City Bridge Club in Alburquerque, NM, and a Silver Life Master at Bridge.
She is survived by three children and a daughter-in-law, Darlene Gulovsen of Godfrey, Rayne Litera of Anchorage, AK, and Bob and Irene Gulovsen of Godfrey; five grandchildren; and 3 great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, G. Robert Gulovsen; and a great-grandson, Trevor Litera.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, January 2, 2014, at 1:00 pm at United Methodist Village in Godfrey with Pastor Irene Gulovsen officiating.
