Ann Marie Hans, 96, died Wednesday, September 27, 2023 at Stillwater Senior Living in Edwardsville. She was born April 24, 1927 in St. Jacob, IL the daughter of James and Helen (Kabel) Brazier. On June 19, 1948, she married the love of her life, Carlan Joseph Hans, who preceded her in death in 2007. Surviving are two daughters, Virginia Long of Alton, Jane Graham of Marseilles, IL, five sons, Allan Hans (Kathy) of Champaign, IL, David Hans of Chesterfield, MO, Gerry Hans (Mary Button) of Los Angeles, CA, Donald Hans (Debra) of Marshalltown, IA, and Phil Hans of Collinsville, IL, fourteen grandchildren, and 28 great grandchildren. Two brothers, Reid Brazier of Moro, IL, and Mike Brazier of West Chicago, IL also survive. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, John Hans, a son-in-law, David Graham, a daughter-in-law, Diane Hans and two sisters, Rita Schertz and Margaret Dobrinsky.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 7, 2023 at St. Boniface Catholic Church in Edwardsville, IL. Father Jeff Goeckner will officiate. Burial will be at St. Boniface Cemetery.
A gracious and kind woman of faith, Ann loved gardening, antiquing, reading books and was an avid Cardinals fan. Her spirit lives on in the lives of her children, “grands” and “greats” and her memory will be cherished forever.
