Ann Tudor

Ann Elizabeth Tudor, 82, of Godfrey, IL and Green Valley, AZ died at 11:37am Thursday, July 14, 2016 at her Godfrey home.  Born March 19, 1934 in Godfrey, she was the daughter of J. Bernard and Clare (Schneider) Radcliff.  Ann was a 1951 graduate of Marquette Catholic High School in Alton, a member of St. Ambrose Catholic Parish in Godfrey and Our Lady of the Valley Parish in Green Valley, AZ. On January 28, 1956, she married Marshall Wayne Tudor in Godfrey. Ann spent many happy hours at the local school helping children learn to read, participated in The League of Women Voters, volunteered at the local hospital doing data entry and brought Holy Communion to patients.  Together, Ann and Marsh established two scholarships for students attending the University of Illinois from the Alton area and supported their local food banks. They enjoyed traveling throughout the world, long walks, cross country skiing, reading, and hosting social gatherings.Marshall preceded Ann in death on October 7, 2012.  Surviving are four children; Marcia Tudor (David Ledden) of Medway, MA; Joan Hall (Rodney) of Macau (SAR) China; Michael Tudor (Brenda) of Elkhart, IN;­­­ and Gail Tudor of Hermon, Maine; as well as 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Also surviving is a brother, John Radcliff (Donna) of Ohio, and three sisters, Mary Porter of Alton, Susan Reinhardt (Joseph) of Godfrey, and Nancy Stotler, (Ric) of Brighton. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until time of memorial service at 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 8, 2016 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey.  Father Steve Pohlman will officiate.  Burial will be at St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Godfrey next to the church, followed by lunch in the St. Ambrose Social Hall.  Gent Funeral Home in Alton is in charge of arrangements.  Online guestbook and information may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com  Memorials are asked to be sent to OSF Saint Anthony's Acute Rehabilitation Unit in Alton, IL.
