Angeline Early-Exton

Angeline Dinah Early-Exton passed away Saturday, November 29, 2025, peacefully and surrounded by family at Longevity Living in Granite City at the age of 70. Angeline was born September 23, 1955 in East St. Louis, but lived most of her life in Granite City, Illinois before graduating from Edwardsville High School in 1973. She was very active in drama and theatre groups. She attended Eastern Illinois University and SIUE and studied special education.

In her constant effort to help others, Angeline worked as a sign language interpreter all her life, working for several major organizations including McDonnell-Douglas, The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency and later started her own business, Metro Deaf Interpreting Professionals. She interpreted for many prestigious people like President George H. Bush, The Dave Matthews Band, and many others. She was a constant advocate for deaf and hard of hearing individuals and those with disabilities.

She married the love of her life, Greg E. Exton June 17, 2000. They lived together in a custom cabin home he built on a small lake and 5+ acres in Dorsey, IL until 2022.

Angeline loved to spend time outdoors riding horses, hiking, fishing as well as dancing. She loved her family dearly and was so proud of them. She was a firm believer in Jesus Christ and knew she would be reunited with her family one day.

Angeline was preceded in death by her beloved husband, her parents David and Mary (Riley) Early. She is survived by her three sons, John (Colleen) Blaylock of Pontoon Beach, Matthew Blaylock of Alton, and Andrew (Courtney) Blaylock of Glendale, MO; a stepdaughter, Madison Exton of Holiday Shores; grandchildren Kane, Seth and Elijah Blaylock, Karson Fowler, Esme, Rylie, Sophie, and Roscoe Blaylock; a brother John Early of Glen Carbon; a sister, Kathie Grill of Burbank, CA; and many extended family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
