Andrea Dehner
Jerseyville | Save
Andrea Kay Dehner, 43, passed away at 1:05 p.m., Wednesday, July 1, 2026, at her home in Jerseyville.
Born on June 6, 1983, in Palos Heights, Illinois, she was the beloved daughter of Paul "Benji" and Cristal (Krueger) Dehner, and was a 2002 graduate of Fayetteville County High School in Fayetteville, Georgia.
Andrea was someone who genuinely enjoyed connecting with people. She was employed at Dollar Tree, where one of her greatest joys was the opportunity to visit with customers and strike up conversations with just about anyone who walked through the doors. She also worked as an Avon Sales Representative, building friendships through her work and always enjoying the chance to brighten someone's day.
Outside of work, Andrea found happiness in life's simple pleasures. She loved getting lost in the pages of a good book, especially novels by James Patterson and the Harry Potter series. She also enjoyed watching movies and could happily spend hours getting lost in a good film. She had a green thumb and enjoyed tending to her garden, rarely passed up a good Pepsi, and treasured the companionship of her beloved cats, with Lulu holding an especially special place in her heart.
Above all else, Andrea's greatest love was her family. She cherished her children and the life they shared together, and the memories they created will remain with them always.
She is survived by her parents, Paul "Benji" and Cristal Dehner of Jerseyville; her three children, Matthew Heitzman III, Morgan Heitzman and Joseph Heitzman, all of Jerseyville; her partner, Matthew Heitzman Jr. of Jerseyville; a brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Stephanie Dehner Jr. of Bloomington; along with many extended family members and friends who will miss her kind heart and friendly spirit.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lloyd Dehner, Martha and John Reed, and Albert and Freda Krueger; two aunts, Marcella McCallister and Phyllis Spurgeon; and a cousin, Cole Dehner.
Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until the time of funeral services at 11 a.m., Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Fieldon United Church of Christ.
Burial will follow at Fieldon Cemetery.
Memorials may be given to the Fieldon United Church of Christ Christian Education Board.
