Amy Tuey

Amy Susan Tuey, 108, of Brighton, went to be with the Lord, on April 12, 2026, at The Villas of Holly Brook in Jerseyville.

She was born on May 30, 1917, in rural Jersey County, to the late Les and Winnie (Ballard) Shade.

Amy started working as an inspector for Olin during WWII to help the war effort. She spent much of her life in service to others and to her Savior Jesus Christ, through working behind the scenes at church and ministering to children in the nursery.

She is survived by her daughter Phyllis (Tom) Graham of Brighton; granddaughter Dr. Dena (Sam) Bachman of Brighton; six great grandchildren, Ethan (Annie) Graham, Jordan (Katie) Graham, Cally (Matt) Burgdorf, Emily (Brian) Thompson, Graham (Abby) Bachman, and AmyDee Bachman (fiancé Aaron Thompson); six great great grandchildren, Avery Burgdorf, Henry Thompson, Thomas Burgdorf, Laura Thompson, Layla Graham, Ruth Bachman, and two more due later this year; grand daughter in law Kathy Graham.

Amy was preceded in death by her parents; grandson Devin Graham; siblings, Russell “Bud” Shade, Lois Eileen Naugle, and Maurita Shade.

Visitation will be held from 10 am until the time of funeral service at noon, on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton.

Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Greenfield.

Memorials may be made to Brighton Betsey Ann Fire Protection District.
