Amy Stewart

Amy Lee Stewart, 55, went home to be with her Heavenly Father on December 15, 2024, at Evercare of Jerseyville.

She was born on November 28, 1969, in Lockport, New York, to Marvin Wayne and Ellen Kaye (Hayes) Saville.

In 1997, Amy married Bryan Dale Stewart in Las Vegas. He preceded her in death in 2016.

Amy earned her associate degree from Lewis and Clark Community College and worked as a secretary for the Dean at the University of Arkansas when she and Bryan lived in Fort Smith.

She is survived by her four sons: Jakob Stewart of Kansas City, MO; Dayton (Karlena Lahey) Stewart of Alton, IL; Brandon Stewart of Florida; and Bryan Stewart of Illinois. She is also survived by her longtime boyfriend, Robert Staats, Alton. She leaves behind her mother, Ellen Saville, and her sister, Rachel (Mike Penrose) Watson, Affton, Mo.

In addition to her husband, Amy was preceded in death by her father, Marvin Wayne Saville, and a sister, Katrin "Kat" Williamson.

Amy was a very kind and gentle soul who loved and cherished her family and friends and wanted happiness for everyone.  She was a true hippie at heart who greatly enjoyed her music. She will be remembered for her beautiful smile, her love for children and for always wanting to hold whatever baby was near her. Amy relaxed by watching movies, working jigsaw puzzles and being with friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, December 20, 2024, from 4 p.m. until the time of the memorial service at 7 p.m. at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Godfrey, Illinois. Father John Wykes, OMV, will officiate.

Memorial contributions are suggested to the Kreative Kids Learning Center, 3048 Godfrey Road, Godfrey, Illinois 62035.
