Amy Pille-Kress (née Poetz), a deeply devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend, passed away on June 22, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones in the comfort of her home. She was 57 years old.
Born in St. Louis, Missouri, on November 15, 1968, Amy was the daughter of Mary Jean and Dr. Robert Poetz. She grew up with a strong foundation of family, a value that she carried with her every single day of her life.
Amy was a woman defined by her profound care for others. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to her profession, bringing dedication and purpose to her work. Above all, Amy was a selfless wife and mother. Her family was the center of her world, and she consistently put the needs, happiness, and well-being of others entirely before her own. Her unconditional love, quiet strength, and nurturing spirit created a home filled with warmth and comfort for everyone who knew her.
She is reunited in peace with her parents, Mary Jean and Dr. Robert Poetz, and her brother, Doug Poetz.
Amy’s legacy of love lives on through her devoted husband, Adam Kress; her cherished children, Olivia and Logan Pille, and Haylee and Alyssa Kress; her loving siblings, Paul Poetz, Lisa Sloan (née Poetz), and Teressa Poetz; as well as a wonderful circle of beloved nieces, nephews, extended family, and lifelong friends.
Visitation will be Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 8:30 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m. at Gress, Kallal, and Schaaf Funeral Home in Hardin, IL.
Burial will follow at St. Barbara’s Cemetery in Batchtown, IL.
