Alma L. Cooper, 93, of Moro, passed away on Sunday, February 21, 2021, at 8:02 am while at Highland HealthCare Center under the care of Heartland Hospice with all five of her children by her side.
She was born on October 28, 1927, in Alton, the daughter of Charles and Velma (Bramlet) Davis. She married Roy E. Cooper on November 23, 1947, at the Bethalto United Methodist Church. He preceded her in death on September 30, 2004.
Alma was a member of Lovejoy United Presbyterian Church in Wood River. She enjoyed baking cookies, sewing, gambling, traveling, eating out, going to church, dancing with her husband and helping him on the farm, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her children and grandchildren.
Survivors include her children, Beverly (Glen) Loflin of Staunton, Nancy Cooper of Cheyenne, OK, Cheryl (William) Heepke of Edwardsville, Darrel (Denise) Cooper of Troy, and Terry Cooper of Moro; 13 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Along with her parents and husband, Roy, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers; 3 sisters; and 2 great-granddaughters.
Visitation will be on Saturday, February 27, 2021, from 9 am until service at 11 am at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto. Pastor Daniel Ervin will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
