Allyn “Wayne” Hensley, 83, died at 2:55 a.m. Sunday, May 24, 2026 at Alton Memorial Hospital. Born August 24, 1942 in Alton, he was the son of Harold K. and Winona (Spurrier) Hensley.
Wayne served in the U.S. Air Force. He retired as owner/operator of Inzone Barber Shop.
On May 15, 1965 he married the former Joan C. Hollenback in St. Louis, MO. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Bryan Hensley of Alton, Todd Hensley of Bloomington, IL, and Eric Hensley of Maryville, IL. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Oliver and Owen Hensley, and two brothers, Joseph Hensley of Godfrey and Tony Hensley of Edwardsville.
Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Tim Hensley.
A memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, May 29, 2026 at St. Ambrose Catholic Church in Godfrey. Father Steve Janoski will officiate. Burial will be private at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Memorials may be made to the VFW Post 1308.
