Allen H. Jones, 97, went home to be with the Lord on March 19, 2026, at their family farm.
He was born February 26, 1929, in Medora, IL, to Harry J. and Ester (Schroeder) Jones.
He graduated from Brighton High School in 1947. He married Audrey Boker on November 25, 1948, they celebrated 77 years of marriage together. Allen was a farmer, insurance agent, and retired from Olin Brass Sales in 1986. He served on the Southwestern High School Board of Education. He was elected to the Brighton Township Board 31 years and 24 years as Clerk. He served on the Betsey Ann Picnic Board for over 50 years and 30 years as Treasurer. Allen was President of the Brighton Cemetery Board for 36 years. Lifetime member of St. John’s United Church of Christ, Brighton.
He was a life member of the Brighton Odd Fellows Lodge #366. He served as Secretary for many years. He served as Grand Master of the Illinois Odd Fellows Grand Lodge in 1989-1990. Representative from Illinois to the Sovereign Grand Lodge for 26 years. Odd Fellow Management Corp. and Odd Fellow-Rebekah Housing Board for 32 years. Allen was President of all these boards for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Audrey; daughter Mona Fones; son Roger (Ella) Jones; grandson Terry (Lisa) Van Doren; great grandchildren Amelia and Bobby Van Doren; brother Robert Jones; brother in law Bob (Maxine) Dunn; nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Ester; brothers Virgil (Joyce) Jones and William S. Jones; sister Sandra (Bill) Burke; sister in law Becky Jones; son in law Dude Fones.
In Lieu of a memorial, honor Allen by doing what he would do: shake someone’s hand, give them a hug, volunteer for your community, help your neighbor, and most of all “Be Kind”.

Visitation will be held from 10 am until the time of service at 11 am on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Anderson Family Funeral Home in Brighton.
