Alice Kallal

JERSEYVILLE-  Alice Marie Kallal, 81, died suddenly at 7:10 p.m., Monday, July 13, 2015 in the emergency room at Jersey Community Hospital in Jerseyville.She was born in Otter Creek Township in Jersey County, Il. on Oct. 12, 1933, the daughter of the late George & Lida (Cope) Ferguson.Alice had worked in the dietary department at Greenwood Manor Nursing Home in Jerseyville for a number of years, and enjoyed reading, crossword puzzle, watching "Young and the Restless", but it was her family, especially her grandchildren, that brought her the most joy.She married Frederick V. Kallal on Nov. 24, 1969 in Jerseyville, and together they have enjoyed  nearly 45 years of marriage.Surviving are her husband, Fred Kallal of Jerseyville; a son, Michael Long of Jerseyville; two daughters & a son in law, Robin Mareschal of Jerseyville and Pamela & Larry Perdun of Chesterfield; two step children & their spouses, Janice & Rick Olmstead of Elsah and Susan & Richard Pruitt of Eldred; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; and a sister, Nellie Faye Treat of Jerseyville.In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Samuel Ferguson & Leonard Ferguson; a half brother, Dwight Cope; and two sisters, Dora Mae Lemons and Mildred Brakeville.Visitation will be from 9 a.m., Friday until time of funeral services at 11 a.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville.  Rev. Ed Haun will officiate.Burial will be in the Oak Grove Cemetery in Jerseyville.Memorials may be given to the First Baptist Church in Jerseyville.
