Alice Horrell Wuellner, age 99, of Alton, passed away Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at Cedarhurst of Edwardsville.

She was born January 28, 1919, in Alton, the daughter of Alex and Ethel (Davis) Zerwas. She had been married to Harold Horrell until his passing in 1986. She was then married to Richard Wuellner until he passed in 1999.

Alice had been an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church for many years. In 1961, she was voted "Best Checker" for all 23 Tri City grocery Stores. Alice was proud of the thousands of hours that she volunteered in the St. Anthony's gift shop. She will be remembered as being a very good cook.

She is survived by two children, Roger Horrell of Denton, TX, and Susan Stephan of Alton; three siblings, Alfred Zerwas, Lucia Molloy, and David and Terese Zerwas; two granddaughters, Meredith (Tom) Nims, and Sara (David) Dahm; and one great-grandson, Dylan Nims.

In addition to her husbands; she is preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mary Jean McKee; and a son-in-law, Tom.

Visitation will be held Thursday, November 29, 2018, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at Staten-Fine Funeral Home in Alton.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, November 30, 2018, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Alton with Fr. John Luong OMV officiating.

Burial will take place in St. Patrick Cemetery in Godfrey.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Marquette Catholic High School.
