Alberta Mae (Bert) Stonecipher, 91, of Bethalto, passed away on Wednesday, August 1, 2018, at her residence with her family by her side.
She was born on April 18, 1927, in Cairo, IL. The daughter of William and Lillian (Threlkeld) Baker. She married Oren L. Stonecipher on November 14, 1959 in Edwardsville.
Alberta was of the Baptist faith and was involved in many church activities. She was an avid photographer. Alberta rode her motorcycle for ten years and loved dirt track racing.
Along with her husband, she is survived by nine children and their spouses, Genia Mitchell of Bethalto, Evelyn Schallenberg of Bethalto, Ray (Pam) Stonecipher of Longmont, CO, Lenora (Terry) Mulligan of Clovis, NM, Candy (Wayne) Hall of Godfrey, Sue Stonecipher of Bethalto, Barb Stonecipher of Bethalto, Steve Stonecipher of Bethalto, and John (Brandy) Stonecipher of Bethalto; twelve grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Alberta was preceded in death by her parents; two sons-in-law; three brothers; and a sister.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, August 7, 2018 from 4 pm to 7 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto, where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at 10 am. Pastor Jason Warren will officiate. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens.
