Alberta J. Homann

Alberta J. Homann, 84, went to be with the Lord at 10:15 a.m. on Sunday, January 17, 2010 at her residence. She was born on November 26, 1925 in Omphgent township, IL, the daughter of Alford & Emma (Wesemann) Lesemann

She married Kenneth W. Homann on May 28, 1996 at Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto. He survives. Alberta was employed at Olin for many years in the cafeteria as a baker. She then worked at the local Donut Shop in Bethalto for several years. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Bethalto, where she was involved with the Ladies Aid and the Church Choir. She was all so a member of the Home Extension in Glen Carbon, Rolling Oldies group through the Olin Community Credit Union and the Encore Club at the Bank of Edwardsville. She enjoyed traveling and playing cards especially pinochle.

She is survived by her five step children and their spouses, Paul & Sandy Homan of Troy, IL, Sharon & Richard McKenzie of Leesburg, FL, Martha & Paul Ashlock of Brighton, Bill & Maggie Lawrence of Rosewood Heights and Donald & Donna Lawrence of Grafton; twelve step grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; two brothers-in-law, and three sisters-in-law, Leon & Imy Luber of Highland, Clarence Winsor of St. Charles, MO, Helen Radcliff of Glen Carbon and Marian & Edd Jones of Edwardsville and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1st husband Ralph Luber, who she married on September 10, 1949 and her preceded her in death by December 5, 1988.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto on Tuesday, January 19, 2010. Burial will be at Prairietown Cemetery on Wednesday, January 20, 2010.
