Albert R. Heaton, 81 of Alton, Illinois, formerly of Granite City, Illinois passed away on Sunday, January 14, 2018 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Albert was born on August 15, 1936 in Granite City; the son of the late Harvey E. and Pearl (Wehling) Heaton. Albert was a pattern maker at Boeing and American Steel and proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a faithful member of Nameoki United Methodist Church in Granite City and in his free time he enjoyed his days spending time with his family. Albert will be remembered for his kind heart and all the special times he shared with his family and fiends.
He is survived by and will be missed by his wife; Marilyn J. (Weir) Heaton, whom he married on November 14, 1959; his children; Lisa James of Godfrey, Illinois, Curtis (Jennifer Lakavage) Heaton of Phoenix, Arizona; his grandchildren, Kaylin R. (Tim) Taylor of Granite City, Illinois, Erica James of Godfrey, Illinois; his sisters, Lorene Christ, Janet DeGonia, Virginia Thomas; his brother, Herbert Heaton.
In addition to his parents, Albert was preceded in death by his brothers; Lawrence Heaton, Elmer Heaton, Jerry Heaton; his sisters, Ilene Edwards, Dorothy White, Thelma Cuvar.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, January 18, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Mike Rayson officiating at Irwin Chapel, 3960 Maryville Road in Granite City. Burial will follow at Sunset Hill Memorial Estates in Glen Carbon. Memorial Donations are suggested to William BeDell ARC or Beverly Farms.
