Albert L. “Bud” Perry, 85, of Bettendorf, IA, formerly of West Alton, MO, passed away peacefully at his home on Sunday, September 10, 2017 after a courageous battle with cancer. A memorial gathering will be held at Historic Summit Church, Utica Ridge Road, Davenport, IA on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00 p.m. Friday, September 15, 2017 at the First Church of God in West Alton, MO where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 16, 2017. Burial will be at Ebenezer Cemetery in West Alton, MO. Albert was born February 1, 1932 to Albert W. and Mariette (Keene) Perry in West Alton, MO. He married A. Evelyn Springer on April 15, 1950; she went to be with the Lord March, 1973. He married Shirley Goettsch on September 15, 1973. He worked for Alcan and Lou’s Service Station, Alton and several truck lines including Burlington, Hannibal-Quincy and Tucker, St. Louis, as well as Smith Transfer and Deutz Tractor Co., Davenport, IA. Upon moving to Iowa in 1976, he farmed and was a member of the Foundation Beefmaster Assn. and Scott Co. Historical Society. He enjoyed fishing and hunting. He is survived by his wife, Shirley; children, Lois Perry of Union, MO, Jane (Keith) Skipper and Michael (Terrie) Perry, of Jerseyville, IL, Karla (Craig) Nelson of Bettendorf, IA, and De Laine Perry of Covington, WA, 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons, Joseph and T. Lee and a granddaughter, Kristi Skipper. Memorials may be made to the Scott Co. Historical Society or the First Church of God in West Alton, MO.
