Albert Heflin

Albert E. Heflin, 80, passed away at 11:30 pm Wednesday, August 3, 2016, at Hitz Memorial Home in Alhambra. 

He was born on February 21, 1936, in Hartford, IL, the son of George L. and Thelma A. (Brown) Heflin. Albert married Rose Jeannette Garrett on September, 14, 1956, in Meadowbrook. She survives.He worked for County Tool and Die as a Welder for 23 years, retiring in 1995. He was a member of Cross Church in Staunton, the NRA and United Steel Workers Local 30. Albert loved to go to Lake Catatoga, where he and his wife had a log home together. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, cooking, gardening and building his children and grandchildren houses.In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children and their spouse, Sherry and Gary Boster of Staunton, Cathy and David Harris of Worden, Jeff  and Carrie Heflin of Bunker Hill, Bryan and Ashley Heflin of Bunker Hill; eighteen grandchildren and their spouses, Bill and Aisha Boster, Debbie and Mike Newman, Amy and Jacob Morgan, David  and Lisa Harris, Katelyn Harris, Cody Heflin, Wyatt Heflin, Maddie Heflin, Garrett Heflin, Briann Heflin, Ethan Morris, Braden Morris, Evan Morris, Lonnie and Paige Billings, Callie and Zach Marshall, Marshall Billings, Seth Billings, and Ben Billings; sixteen great grandchildren; seven siblings and their spouses, Patsy Snider of Bethalto, Jimmy and Margie Heflin of AZ, John and Sandy Heflin of TX, Glen and Shirley Heflin of Bunker Hill, Vesta and Eudell Myers of Bethalto, Fran and Bill McMillen of FL, and Mike Heflin of Moro.He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Belinda Carol Heflin and Pamela Denise Billings; one brother Charles Heflin; and a brother in law Chester Snider.Visitation will be from Sunday, August 7, 2016, from 4 pm to 7 pm at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto.Funeral services will be at 11 am Monday, August 8, 2016, at the funeral home, with Pastor Ron Rhodus officiating.Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.Online condolences and guest book may be found at www.eliaskallalandschaaf.com
