Agnes Louise “Lou” Knackstedt, nee Carrico, 87, of Caseyville, IL, born Saturday, January 28, 1939, in Charleston, MO, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2026 at La Bella of Caseyville in Caseyville, IL.
Agnes “Lou” worked as a Checker for Kozaks, A & P, and National Food Store.
Agnes Louise “Lou” Knackstedt passed away peacefully, leaving behind a lifetime of love, kindness, and cherished memories.
Lou loved her family with all her heart. Her family was her greatest joy, especially her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She treasured every moment spent with the people she loved. She had a generous spirit and a heart that always seemed to have room for one more person.
During her years living in the nursing home, Lou became loved not only by her family, but by so many of the residents and staff who had the privilege of knowing her. She had a special way of making people feel welcomed and cared for. Lou was always giving-she would truly give the clothes off her back to someone who needed them. Her generosity came naturally, because helping others was simply part of who she was.
Lou loved to socialize and visit. She could often be found making her way from room to room, her signature Pepsi in hand, checking on other residents, stopping for a conversation, sharing a laugh, or simply spending time with someone who might need a little company. She formed meaningful friendships and brought warmth and companionship wherever she went.
Those who knew Lou will remember her loving heart, her giving nature, and the way she made connections with people wherever she was. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through her family, her friends, and all those whose lives she touched.
