Ada R. Pauketat, 79, passed away at 5:56 p.m. on Friday, January 14, 2011, in the emergency room at Alton Memorial Hospital.  She was born on June 24, 1931, in Kampsville, Illinois the daughter of the late Harry and Hazel (Brangenberg) Rose Sr.  She married Carol J. Pauketat on July 14, 1956, in Alton and he preceded her in death. 

Survivors include one daughter: Elizabeth A. Krinsky of St. Louis, Missouri, one son: Scott J. Pauketat of St. Louis, Missouri, a granddaughter: Gidget Pauketat of Los Angeles, California, one brother and sister in law: Harry and Irene Rose Jr. of Wood River, her cousins and several close friends. 

She was employed as a fashion consultant at Vogue in Alton.  She then was employed at Phoebe Goldberg and she retired from Hudson's Jewelry in Alton.  She was a member of the St. John's United Church of Christ in Wood River.  She was a past member of the Local #881 UFCW, the Wood River Woman's Club, and friends of the Wood River library.  She loved kids, enjoyed reading, theatre, politics, fashion, history, football, and her home.  She was a good neighbor.  She was preceded in death by her father, her mother, her step - father: Joseph E. Calvert, and her husband.


Visitation will be from 11am until time of funeral services at 1pm on Tuesday, January 18, 2011 at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River.  Rev. Mike Southcombe will officiate.  Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.


Memorials are suggested to the St. John's United Church of Christ in Wood River.
