Ada Allred

Ada Marie Allred, 89, passed away peacefully with family by her side at 1:20 a.m. Saturday, January 6, 2018 at Alton Memorial Hospital. Born February 9, 1928 in Blytheville, Arkansas, she was the daughter of Lee and Linnie (Coonich) Cavashere. She married William George Allred on August 23, 1946 in Piggott, Arkansas. He preceded her in death on September 14, 2000. Mrs. Allred was a homemaker who loved square dancing at the Round House in Wood River and enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by two daughters, Judy Main of Bunker Hill and Stacie (Jim) Thomas Jr. of Wood River, one son, Thomas (Janice Lafferty) Allred Sr. of Alton and Joanne Showacre who was like an adopted daughter. Also surviving are six grandchildren, Tracey (Todd) Sorgea, Carla (Brant) McCance, Thomas Allred Jr. and girlfriend Tammy Kissimme, Ashley Thomas, Christina (Sam) Duran, and Danny (April) Davis, 27 great grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Cavashere and three sisters, Merle Phillips, Fannie Anderson and Joyce Ashley. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at Gent Funeral Home where funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 11, 2018. Reverend Thomas Allred Sr. will officiate. Burial will be at Wanda Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice. Online guestbook and information may be found at www.gentfuneralhome.com
