Dennis Schmitt

Dennis J. Schmitt, age 54, passed away peacefully on October 13, 2013 at Barnes Jewish Hospital. Dennis was born August 10, 1959 in Peoria, IL to the union of Eileen  and the late Donald Schmitt.  He worked as a contractor repairing locomotives, a job which he loved. He enjoyed every moment and was always quick with a laugh and a smile. He will be greatly missed.Survived by his wife, Lorna; 2 daughters, Sierra and Deeana Schmitt; a step-daughter, Jessica Landis; his mother, Eileen Schmitt; 2 sisters, Debra (Mike) Young, and Dee Dee (Jason) Harlow; a brother, David (Janet) Schmitt; and numerous belovedrelatives in Peoria, IL.A celebration of his life will be held at Woodstock Lounge, 638 East Broadway Street, Alton.Friday, October 18, 2013 at 4:00 p.m..
