Barbara J. Arnold, age 76, passed away at 7:25 p.m. on Wednesday, February 6, 2013, at her residence, with her family by her side.
She was born on January 17, 1937 in Alton the daughter of the late John B. and Minnie Mae (Lair) O’Donnel.
Barbara was employed at Olin Corporation for over 25 years as a Tester and Inspector. She was a member of the Alton Eagles Lodge #254, she enjoyed playing cards, yard sales and loved cats. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed raising lilies and iris’s. Her greatest joy spending time with her family especially at family gatherings.
She is survived by two daughters: Bobbie Foiles of Granite City, IL, and Jackie and her spouse Gene Heafner of Godfrey, and two sons: Rodney Foiles of Godfrey, and Ricky and his spouse Linda Foiles of Alton, seven grand children: Carrie Watt, Robert Robinson, Teressa Heafner, Sara Heafner, Kristina Heafner, Scott Foiles, and Brok Wiegand, Libby Marfia and nine great grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 pm, Friday February 8, 2013 at the Elias, Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton. Funeral service will be at 10 am, Saturday February 9 2013 at the funeral home with Rev. Brad Donoho officiating.
Burial will be at the Upper Alton Cemetery, Alton, IL
Memorial may be directed to the American Heart Foundation.
