Richard O. Rintoul, 70, died at 3:20 p.m. Monday, May 2, 2011 at Rosewood Care Center in Alton. Born November 5, 1940 in Alton, he was the son of Victor and Edna (Brecht) Rintoul. He was an engineer for McDonnell Douglas/Boeing in St. Louis, MO and retired after 40 years of service. He enjoyed playing golf and farming. On July 18, 1964 in Alton, he married the former Jeanette Kay Robinson. She preceded him in death on April 28, 2004.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, David and Donna Rintoul of Godfrey, and Bradley and Juliana Rintoul of San Diego, CA, two grandchildren, Ann Janelle Rintoul and Olivia Kaylin Rintoul, and one brother, Don Rintoul of Bee Branch, Arkansas.
Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until time of funeral service at 1:00 p.m. Friday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Reverend Don E. Long Jr. will officiate.
Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the 5A’s Animal Shelter.
