Shirley Emken, 82, died at 12:50 p.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2010 at her residence. She was born November 2, 1928 in Ironwood, Michigan the daughter of the late William and Myrtle (Fredickson) Postle. She retired from Schnuck’s Market in Godfrey.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star in St. Louis, MO.
She is survived by two daughters: Gail Hobbs and her husband John of Godfrey and Phyllis Selke and her husband Michael of Godfrey, one son: Michael Emken and his wife Kimberly of St. Louis, six grandchildren: Jayme Brunkhorst, John Hobbs IV, Jennifer Selke, Ben Emken, Jimmy Selke and Emily Emken, one great grandson: Michael Brunkhorst. She was preceded in death by one son: Phillip James “Jimmy” Emken.
Burial is private at Memorial Park Cemetery in St. Louis, MO. Gent Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
