Lena Frances "Tillie" Stobbs, aged 86, died Tuesday, July 6, 2010 at St. Anthony’s Hospital with her family by her side. She was born on October 13, 1923 in Tichnor, Arkansas, daughter of Elmo and Ruth (Duncan) Tillinghast.
On February 13, 1945, she married William B. Stobbs at St. Patrick’s Church in Alton; he survives.
Also surviving are her children: Dianne Wingerter, Sandra (Jerry) Austwick, John P. Stobbs, and Maryjane (Kirk) Million; her grandchildren: Paul Wingerter, Andy Austwick, Amy Austwick, Atticus Bailey-Stobbs, Thackeray Bailey-Stobbs, August Bailey-Stobbs, Shane Million and Erin Stobbs; and great-grandchildren: Caleb Bailey-Stobbs, Liam Bailey-Stobbs, Hannah Austwick and Tate Austwick, as well as nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her son William A. J. Stobbs, her parents and her brother.
She was a long-time employee of Duke’s Bakery and member of Saints Peter and Paul Church.
Per her wishes, she has been donated to science.
Services may be scheduled at a later date.
