Thelma J. Ellis, 78, died at 12:35 a.m. Tuesday, June 22, 2010 at Grand River Nursing & Rehab in St. Charles, MO.
Born October 10, 1931 in Clay, Kentucky, she was the daughter of George and Bonnie (Williams) Martin. She worked for McDonnell Douglas for nearly 20 years and was a member of the Resurrection Lutheran Church in Godfrey. On March 17, 1977 in Alton, she married William O. Ellis.
She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Dori Dobbs of St. Louis, MO and Jimmie Weirich of Godfrey, one step-son, Samuel A. Ellis of Cottage Hills, 12 grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren and one brother, Tom Martin of High Ridge, MO.
Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Friday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at the Resurrection Lutheran Church in Godfrey. Reverend Dr. Ken Tegtmeier will officiate. Burial will be at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
