Rita M. Klocke, 74, passed away at 11:00 a.m. Sunday, June 13, 2010 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Born July 22, 1935 in Edwardsville, she was a daughter of Claude and Irene (Massey) Volentine.
She loved being a homemaker and spending time with family. Among her accomplishments were achieving her GED at 44 years of age and earning her certified nursing certificate.
She is survived by her children and their spouses, Dennis and Deborah Stagner, Kenneth and Denise Stagner, Russell Stagner, Roger and Dorothy George, Cathleen and Patrick Nickels and Timothy and Kimberly Klocke; 14 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; two half sisters, Peggy Striegel and Leona Wilfond; and a half brother, Eugene Hutchins.
She was preceded in death by an infant son Brian and her loving companion, Tom Cannavan.
Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday, June 16 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights, where Mark Burk will officiate funeral services at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 17.
She will be laid to rest at Wanda Cemetery in South Roxana.
