Arlene A. Wharry, 78, passed away at 9:40pm on Thursday, June 10, 2010, at the residence of her longtime companion Bob Myers with her family by her side.

She was born on November 29, 1931, in Chicago, Illinois the daughter of the late Ralph Baker and Anne Baker Camit (Skuta). Survivors include one son and daughter in law: Daryl and Candy Wharry of Cottage Hills, Illinois, one grandson: Andrew Wharry of Cottage Hills, Illinois, one sister: Carole A. Potter of Lansing, Illinois, one niece, two nephews, several cousins, and her longtime companion Bob Myers of Wood River.

She was employed at the First National Bank of Staunton at the Bethalto Banking Branch until her retirement. She had been previously employed for many years at the Citizens Savings and Loan. She attended the First United Methodist Church in Wood River. She enjoyed spending time with her grandson and traveling.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter: Dana Lynn Wharry.

In celebration of her life, visitation will be from 11am until time of funeral services at 1pm on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at Pitchford Funeral Home in Wood River. Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to BJC Hospice of Alton and will be accepted at the funeral home.
