Shirley L. Schoeneweis, age 72, passed away at 2:50 pm, on Friday, May 21, 2010 at her residence in Carlinville, IL .
She was born on March 24, 1938 in Ripley, TN, the daughter of the late Daufus & Elizabeth Garrett.
She married Darrell C. Schoeneweis on February 6, 1960 in Meadowbrook, IL. He passed away July 25, 1980.
Shirley took pride in staying at home with her family, spend most of her time with her daughter Felicia, who has special needs.
She is survived by three children, Fonda Riester and her husband Tommy of Carlinville, Kurt Schoeneweis of Carlinville and Felicia Schoeneweis of Carlinville; four grandchildren, KayLea Jo Schoeneweis, Savanna Rae Schoeneweis, Amber Nicole Freeman and Zachary Joel Freeman; one sister and brother-in-law, Jeannette & Albert Heflin of Bunker Hill; one brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy Ray & Janet Garrett of Prairietown and two half sisters.
Preceded in death by her parents, husband and six half siblings.
Memorial services will be at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Elias, Kallal and Schaaf Funeral Home in Bethalto with Pastor Jeff Hemken officiating.
Burial will follow at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto.
Memorials may be made to the family for future care of Felicia her daughter.
