Thomas G. Saxton, 66, died at 1:35 a.m. Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.
He was born January 8, 1944 in Alton the son of Glenn K. And Eunice Ruth (Jarvis) Saxton. On May 17, 1961 in Wood River, IL he married the former Jeanette K. (Hancock). He was a process foreman for Premcor (Clark) Refinery in Hartford retiring after 37 years of service. He was a member of Upper Alton Baptist Church. His hobbies included coin collecting and genealogy.
Besides his wife he is survived by two daughters; Dawn Kamp of Godfrey and Jenny Parks and her husband Michael of Alton. One son; Jeff Saxton and his wife Carol of Alton. Ten grandchildren; Torrey Saxton, Molly Saxton, J.D. Saxton, Annie Saxton, Angela Scoggins, Brandon Kamp and Bradley Kamp, Jacob Parks, Corey Parks and Clayton Parks. One great-grandchild; Ariana Scoggins. One brother; Joseph Saxton and his wife Janet of Brighton, IL. One sister; Brenda White and her husband Paul of Alton. One brother –in-law; Bob Mitchell of Greenville, OH. He is preceded in death by one sister; Velda Mitchell.
Visitation will be Friday, May 28, 2010 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. at Gent Funeral Home in Alton.
Memorial service will be Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at Upper Alton Baptist Church in Alton with Reverend Brad Donoho to officiate. Burial will be at Upper Alton Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to the Upper Alton Baptist Church or the Siteman Cancer Center at Barnes Jewish Hospital.
