Shirley J. Stone, 74, passed away at 9:31 a.m. Friday, April 30, 2010 at Alton Memorial Hospital.
Born Aug. 27, 1935 in Alton, she was the daughter of John C. and Eunice (Scheffel) Ford.
She was a secretary for the Wood River Township Assessor for 10 years.
On June 2, 1954, she married Edward A. Stone in Wood River. He survives.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Debbie and John Sandbach; twograndchildren, Jodi and Justin Sandbach; and a brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Frances Ford of Indianapolis, Ind.
Visitation will be Wednesday, May 5 at Paynic Home for Funerals from 11 a.m. until time of service at noon. The Rev. Daryl Fansler will officiate.
Burial will follow at Valhalla Memorial Park in Godfrey.
