Agnes R. Calhoun, 91, died at 1:45 a.m. Thursday, April 8, 2010 at Bethalto Care Center.
Born September 22, 1918 in Eddyville, KY, she was the daughter of John and Grace (Brake) Fox.
On May 23, 1936 in Eddyville, KY, she married Charles Woodrow Calhoun. He preceded her in death on April 16, 2000.
Surviving are two daughters; Roma Hickerson and her husband Clarence of Desoto, MO and Donnie Leach of Litchfield, IL, nine grandchildren; Ron Short, Gail Nickle, Dawn De Rousse, Shelly Brenner, John Short, Cary Hickerson, Jeff Leach, Joe Leach and Thad Leach, one step granddaughter, Dee Ann Lewis, 13 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two sons, an infant C. Wayne Calhoun and G. Michael Calhoun, a son-in-law, Don Leach, a great granddaughter, April Nickle, a great great grandson, Josiah Bilyus, 4 brothers, Elmer Fox, Ganar Fox, Johnnie Fox and T.P. Fox, and three sisters, Gladysford Schaefer, Dickie Maupin and Polly Aldridge.
Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of funeral at 1:00 p.m. Monday at Gent Funeral Home in Alton. Reverend Clyde Myers will officiate.
Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memory Gardens in Bethalto. Memorials may be made to Cottage Hills Baptist Church Building Fund or the Shriners Hospital for Children.
