Dorothy A. Kennedy, age 95, passed away at 6:40 am, Sunday, March 21, 2010, at St. Clare’s Hospital in Alton
She was born in Macoupin County, IL on September 12, 1914, to the late Robert and Mamie (Pfister) Whyers. She married Paul Kennedy in Alton in November 1941; he preceded her in death in July 1972. She was a housewife most of her life, living in the area all of her life.
One brother Glenn Whyers of Alton, one neice Susanne and her spouse Gary Perecepe of Springfield, OH, and one nephew Greg and his spouse Mona Whyers of Wood River survive her.
She was preceded by her parents, husband, one sister Marie Hale, three brothers Victor, Robert and Vernon Whyers.
Visitation will be Tuesday March 23, 2010 from 4 pm to 8 pm at Elias Kallal & Schaaf Funeral Home in Alton with funeral services at the funeral home Wednesday March 24, 2010 at 10 am with Rev. Don Long officiating.
Burial will follow at Ingersol Cemetery in Alton.
Memorials may be given to the American Diabetes Association.
