Johnny L. Coyle, 57, passed away at 7:05 a.m. Monday, March 15, 2010 at Alton Memorial Hospital. A man who adored his grandchildren and step grandchildren will be greatly missed by them and by aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Born June 16, 1952 in Logan County, W.Va., he was the son of Richard and Mavis (Cassidy) Coyle.
He retired in November, 2007 after working as a laborer for Federal Steel for 8 years and as a tanker man for Adams Land Marine for 10 years.
His marriage to Mary A. Williams took place in Wood River on Dec. 30, 1993. She survives.
He is also survived by two step daughters, Toni Gamblin of Rosewood Heights and Sarah McCoy and her husband Chad of Wood River; two stepsons, Derek Winship of East Alton and Jason Winship and his wife Jamie of Rosewood Heights; his step grandchildren, David Hall, Tiffani, Erin, and Kristen Gamblin, and Luke and Josi McCoy; and a brother and sister-in-law, John and Nancy Terrill of Rolla, Mo.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 17 at Paynic Home for Funerals in Rosewood Heights.
Visitation will continue Friday, March 19 at Heitmeyer Funeral Chapel in Oakwood, Ohio from 11 a.m. until time of services at 1 p.m.
Funeral services will be held Friday, March 19 in Oakwood, Ohio, followed by interment at Sherman Cemetery in Oakwood.
